Good evening and welcome to the Residence of the Italian Ambassador in Tokyo a house-museum of the mid-sixties in a traditional and historical Japanese garden of the Edo period.
In this place, the unity and friendship of out two Nations are physically visible and, as you can see, it is also a place where traditions, craftmanship and beauty are very evident.
For these reasons, my wife Sabina and I are very pleased to host once again a special night for Pomellato, a company whose global success and recognition is based on the same interconnected qualities – traditions, artisanship quality and beauty – that make it possible to creates objects with timeless appeal.
Tonight, we warmly welcome Sabina Belli, Vincenzo Castaldo and Flavio Dal Lago who are here also on the special occasion of the opening of the exhibition “Pomellato, Helmut Newton and the 80s”, a collection of advertising photographs that acts as a time capsule for Milan in the ’80s and express Pomellato’s quote-unquote challenging non-conformity, that made the company so much loved worldwide.
Without further ado, I thank you for your presence tonight and leave the floor to Pomellato CEO, Sabina Belli.
